DOMESTIC violence support charity the Butterfly Foundation has received a welcome £60,000 grant from the Tudor Trust.
The foundation, based at the Bourne Spring Centre in Springbourne, supports men, women and children who have suffered from domestic violence through creative workshops and live drama and dance performances.
Creative director Julie Johns said the funds, awarded over a two-year period, would go towards the charity’s ongoing operational costs.
“This could not have come at a better time,” she said.
“Already this year we have received a record number of new members. This is often the case at this time of year when Christmas has been a season of severe stress and anxiety for many families.
“We also hope the increase in new members is due to an increase in confidence that those suffering from violence and abuse will receive the support they desperately need.”
