AN AVID Cherries fan scored a double when he saw his team go top of League One and then became a dad.
Daniel Hall, 25, has been supporting AFC Bournemouth for 12 years and was overjoyed when the Cherries beat Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday and went top of the league.
But he had a second reason to celebrate when his 21-year-old partner Kirsty Manning went into labour within hours of the Cherries’ victory. She eventually gave birth to little Madison-Skye Elizabeth Hall at 3.18pm the next day.
Daniel, of Moorcroft Avenue in Burton, said: “Kirsty’s contractions started about four hours after the Cherries went top of the league – I reckon it must have been the shock!
“It doesn’t get much better for an ardent Bournemouth fan to see his team go top and then become a dad within 24 hours, it’s just amazing.
“All my mates are saying we’ve bought another little Cherry into the world and that’s exactly what she’ll be. I can’t wait to go out and start buying her some AFC Bournemouth stuff.
“If the Cherries go up now, this could be the best year of my life.”
A spokesperson for AFC Bournemouth said: “These are exciting times for everyone associated with AFC Bournemouth and we’re delighted that Daniel has got an extra reason to celebrate. We wish him and his family all the best as they continue to support the Cherries.”
