THE award-winning So and So Circus Theatre make their Lighthouse debut this month with Backgammon for Beginners.
Appealing to lovers of circus, contemporary dance, drama and physical theatre, the show also promises a “detailed, emotionally engaging narrative and beautiful live score”.
In 1976 a bemused Iranian man arrives on a military jet in London holding nothing but a suitcase, a complicated past and a love of backgammon.
Unknown to airport officials, he has smuggled in the last of his opium supply, and brings with him a complicated past from a culture which doesn’t slot very neatly into this one.
Fusing drama, acrobatics, live music and puppetry, So and So Circus tells the true story of Roshan and his numerous adventures.
