FOR many people running one marathon is an achievement. For others, running a marathon every year or as often as they can is their goal.
Of course, most of us do neither.
So we salute Bournemouth’s Barry Light who ran 60 marathons in 60 weeks aged 60 to raise £6,000 for good causes.
Barry, now 61, completed his challenge fittingly in his home town on Sunday.
Olympic runner Liz Yelling was there to cheer him on, while comedian Eddie Izzard who completed 43 marathons in 51 days for Sport Relief, sent Barry a text to commend him on his achievement.
You would have thought after all that running, Barry would be putting his feet up and having a well-earned rest.
But Barry is now aiming to join the select 100 marathons club by the end of the year.
We have a feeling that Barry will quite rightly be earning plaudits for that notable achievement by 2014.
