REPORTS of a man on the loose with a gun triggered a full-scale armed response in North Bournemouth yesterday.
Armed police swooped in the Ringwood Road area of Kinson after emergency services were alerted.
The drama began when police received a 999 call at around 12.10pm. They were told a man had been spotted with a firearm in the Ringwood Road area.
Officers rushed to the scene and were joined by the police helicopter as an extensive manhunt got under way.
Police have confirmed that they attended after the man was spotted at 12.10pm.
Two men were later arrested by officers, and were last night helping police with their enquiries.
But a spokesperson refused to comment further on what had happened.
She said: “No further information is being released at this time.”
Residents returning to the area last night had heard the police helicopter but had been unaware of the extent of the drama which had unfolded.
