NEW volunteers are needed for The British Red Cross in Bournemouth.
The Red Cross fire and emergency support service (FESS) operates in 40 counties across the UK, offering practical and emotional support for people involved in fires, floods and other emergencies.
Once called out by the fire service, the FESS use their specially-adapted vehicles equipped with clothing, food and other supplies to provide refuge for those affected by traumatic experiences.
Red Cross FESS co-ordinator, Klara Downing, said: “We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic, reliable volunteers to join our team. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be given but volunteers do need to live within 20 minutes of Springbourne Fire Station. Our volunteers make a real difference to people in crisis.”
