FANS of one of Bournemouth Air Festival's favourite aircraft are on tenterhooks for an announcement next week.

A post on Vulcan XH558's Facebook page with this logo and the slogan “Don't let me die, I wanna fly...all will be revealed on 21.03.2013” has got supporters talking.

Bournemouth Echo:

Many have speculated that it might concern a sponsorship deal and a new paint scheme for the plane, but the Vulcan to the Sky Trust has posted to say it has “nothing to do with changing paintwork”.

More likely seems to be a partnership with British rock band Knock Out Kaine - posts on Twitter suggest the band will be supporting the Cold War bomber and the logo appears to be a reworked version of that of the band.

The band has posted on Twitter to say they have done a photoshoot with the plane.

Jon Weaver, air festival director, said: “We hope the announcement on March 21 is positive, and that the Vulcan bomber is able to return to the Festival in 2013, particularly as this year we will be welcoming a ‘big noise’ favourite back to Bournemouth, which we will be announcing at the Air Festival launch March 22.”

The aircraft needs hundreds of thousands of pounds a year to stay in the air and it all comes from public support.

The latest fundraising drive to raise £800,000 has around £550,000 in the kitty.
