MID Dorset and North Poole MP Annette Brooke has backed a prostate cancer initiative to ensure men get the best care – regardless of where they live.
The MP has pledged her support for Prostate Cancer UK’s quality checklist, which follows recent evidence exposing vast variations in care for men with the disease across the UK.
It sets out 15 national standards for care and support.
Mrs Brooke, who attended a campaigning event at Westminster alongside people affected by prostate cancer from across the country, said: “Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It is incredibly important that we do all we can to ensure all men with prostate cancer get the care and support they need.”
She has called on the Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group to adopt the checklist as soon as possible.
