THE search is on for the top shops in Poole as the annual hunt for the best retail experience gets underway.

Nominees are being sought for the greatest shopping experience in town for the annual, Daily Echo backed, Top of the Shops Awards organised by Poole Town Centre Partnership.

The Oscars of the retail world are the chance to showcase the very best in customer service and provide a boost to the local economy, reminding people what is available on the local high street.

Now in their eighth year, the awards are sponsored by Sibbett Gregory, Breeze Volkswagen and Borough of Poole’s economic development team.

Free to enter, they offer mystery shopping and an award ceremony and the closing dates for nominations is Saturday March 30.

“Poole’s Top of the Shops not only celebrates the very best of the town’s retailers, it also provides practical support for the individual businesses involved,” said Jonathan Sibbett, director of Sibbett Gregory.

“Each entrant receives a visit from a mystery shopper and can receive detailed feedback which many have found invaluable in developing their business.

“The awards are a great opportunity to increase shop profiles, boost staff moral, share innovation and remind shoppers of the quality retailers Poole has on offer.”

John Corderoy, managing director of Breeze Volkswagen said: “In this economic climate retailers are at the cutting edge of business and have to constantly reinvent their offer and inspire shoppers to achieve success.

“Top of the Shops is an opportunity to celebrate those who consistently raise their game and keep their customers coming back with great service and we are extremely proud to support it again this year.”

Award winners will be announced on May 16 at a dinner at the Quay Thistle Hotel hosted by Steve Power from Wave 105. To enter contact Mandy Payne at mandy@ retailresource.biz or contact Hannah Mayo at info@poole towncentre.com.
