ONE of Poole's busiest roads will be closed overnight for three weeks for resurfacing and drainage works.

Drivers will be diverted to allow work to be carried out on the A350 Poole Road between the A31 Roundhouse roundabout and the turning to Lytchett Minster, known as Jubilee Cross.

The closure will be in place between 7pm and 6am, starting on Monday April 8. The roads will be open overnight on just four occasions during the three week period, April 13, 14, 20 and 21.

“We know that this road is the vital link into Poole and the port for business deliveries and we have given early warning about this work” said Dorset County Council's head of highways operations, Andrew Martin.

“Anyone who uses the A350 will know that the road surface is in a very bad condition. The only way to carry out the work is to close it overnight.”

The diversion route will be the A31, A341 Oakley Hill, A349 Gravel Hill/Waterloo road, A35 Upton Road and A35 Upton Bypass.
