BOSCOMBE is marking Easter this year with a host of fun events, including Easter egg hunts, live music and a dog show.

Kicking off on Good Friday youngsters can search for hidden Easter egg stickers around the Sovereign Centre, precinct and Royal Arcade shops, with a chance of free goody bags and discounts from the owners.

Bournemouth mayor Phil Stanley-Watts will be giving out prizes for the best hunters on Easter Monday, although prizes can also be collected at the community shop in the Sovereign Centre.

The weekend will also see face painting, live music and a bouncy castle in the town centre on Saturday, as well as a vintage arts fair with afternoon tea in the Royal Arcade and precinct on Easter Sunday.

The Sovereign Centre will host an Easter Bonnet parade at 2.30pm on Easter Monday at the band stand, with prizes for the best bonnets at 3pm.

Down the road at Boscombe Chine Gardens the annual Easter family fun day gets underway on Saturday, with the Scruffs Fun Dog Show at 2.45pm.

The event, which runs from 11am to 4pm, also includes nature trails, live music from Swing Unlimited and Gugge 2000, storytelling, face painting, rides and games, and an appearance by Dorset Fire and Rescue.

The Easter events are organised by Bournemouth Coastal BID, Boscombe Regeneration Partnership and the Friends of Boscombe Chine Gardens.
