REAL ale fans poured into the BIC for the fourth annual Bournemouth Beer Festival.
Thousands flocked to the BIC on Saturday and Sunday for the festivities.
Among the 200 beers on offer were two 8.5 per cent brews, which many connoisseurs were gearing up to during Saturday’s afternoon session.
Barry Wilson, operations manager at the BIC, said: “We do see some of the same faces returning each year, which is very nice.
“People just want to come along and try some different beers in a nice setting. There’s great lighting, long tables similar to the offering at traditional beer festivals, and a great stage for the live music.”
He added: “I think the Bournemouth Beer Festival offers something a little bit different, and that’s why people come back.”
Gary Uden, 33, of Poole, said: “There’s a great selection of beer, so I’m really enjoying myself. It’s the first beer festival I’ve ever been to, but it’s nice.”
Simon Warr, 43, had travelled from Frimley Green to enjoy the event. “The choice is fantastic, which is the main draw,” he said.
“As well as that though, it’s really well-organised.”
He said he was unlikely to drink the strongest ale on offer, adding: “I think 5.5 per cent is probably enough.”
