PART of the Christchurch Bypass was closed this morning after a collision, causing long tailbacks all around the area.
Traffic is queuing from Burton to Sopley and the Avon Causeway is also at a standstill.
There are also long delays on Somerford Road and traffic is backing up in Highcliffe as a result of the collision.
Motorists are also delayed in both directions on the bypass between Stony Lane roundabout and the A337 Highcliffe Road and Somerford Road.
Police say the congestion is a result of the earlier road closure.
@bournemouthecho On Bridge St heading west, haven't moved an inch for 20+ minutes. Thoughts with person injured in accident.
