POLICE are still hunting a hit and run driver involved in a collision which left a cyclist seriously injured.
A female cyclist was seriously injured on the road's busy Cooper Dean flyover on Saturday.
The northbound carriageway of the Wessex Way was closed and traffic diverted while the 36-year-old casualty was treated and police investigators examined the scene.
A Dorset police spokeswoman said the driver of the vehicle involved had failed to stop after the cyclist was knocked off her bike at around 7.45 am.
The injured woman is being treated at Southampton hospital for serious injuries and police are appealing for witnesses.
They are urging the driver of the vehicle, which will have a damaged headlight, to contact them.
Police returned to the scene to continue their investigation early on Sunday morning.
