A REFURBISHED X-ray facility has opened in the New Forest, after relocating from the former workhouse building at Fordingbridge hospital.

The new facility is now in The Arch Clinic in Bartons Road, Fordingbridge, on the same site as the GP practice.

The £243,000 adaptations at The Arch Clinic include the formation of a new entrance, internal partitioning to provide waiting, change and toilet facilities, as well as an x-ray room.

The x-ray equipment in the former building was in good condition, and suitable for use for the next 10-15 years, so it was moved to the new accommodation.

Inger Hebden, the CCG’s Director of Commissioning said: “Work began in January, with patients able to have their x-rays at Salisbury District Hospital in the interim.

“The department re-opened at the beginning of this month.

“The new location at The Arch Clinic has completely modernised the facility, and made it a much more pleasant environment for those who use it.”
