FIREFIGHTERS attended an out-of-control bonfire in Canford Cliffs Road on Sunday afternoon.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, where a tree had caught fire after the bonfire flames were blown onto it and firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue said: “Always be responsible and safe when holding a bonfire.
“Consider your neighbours and be prepared for changes in the weather conditions, which could fan the flames.”
They went on to say that anybody wishing to hold a controlled bonfire should let Dorset Fire and Rescue Service know in advance, which can be done by calling their control room on 01305 252040.
