A WOMAN fought off a man who attempted to sexually assault her in Sturminster Newton last week.
The 27-year-old local woman was walking on a footpath near the sorting office on the Butts Pond Industrial Estate at around 2pm on Monday, May 13, when she was approached by the unknown man.
He pushed her to the ground and attempted to indecently touch her through her clothing, but the victim was able to kick him away, and he fled the scene.
Police Constable Andy Marsh, of West Dorset CID, said: “This was an unprovoked attack and it is likely that a number of people would have been in the area around the time it took place.
“Witnesses and anyone with information about the incident should contact Dorset Police as soon as possible in the strictest confidence.”
The offender is described as a white man in his twenties, around six feet tall with black hair, facial piercings and a tattoo on his neck. He was wearing a black v-neck jumper with tracksuit bottoms that had a thin white line down the side of the leg.
Contact police with information on 101, quoting incident number 13:240, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
