AN evening charity event has been launched by Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce in aid of the Jon Egging Trust.
The Red Garden Party will be an evening extravaganza taking in the impressive night air displays at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival on August 31, plus live music and special guests.
Money raised will go to the trust which was set up in memory of the Red Arrows pilot who lost his life following a display in Bournemouth in 2011.
Run by Jon’s family and friends, the trust has developed an exciting and unique youth engagement programme, Blue Skies, providing inspiration, experience and work skills for disadvantaged young people. The charity is one of the three main beneficiaries of the Bournemouth Air Festival.
Chamber president Mandy Payne said: “Last year the Red Ball was a huge success and helped raise money for the Jon Egging Trust. As there won’t be a ball this year we thought we would put on an alternative event to keep the momentum going.”
Hotel Miramar director David Bailey is also patrons’ ambassador of the air festival, and sponsor of the night air acts.
He said: “As well as the opportunity to buy tickets for the Bournemouth Chamber event, I would like to remind local businesses that it is not too late to join our patrons’ scheme, and for a minimal outlay you will be supporting the festival and its chosen charities.”
Tickets for the Red Garden Party are £25.00 to include hog roast and drinks, and can be bought from Hazel Hatch on hazel@simply-events.com or by calling 01202 233225/07805 201032.
For businesses wishing to join the Bournemouth Air Festival Patrons’ Scheme, call David Bailey on 01202 556581.
