THE great thing about nature is that it’s always there for everyone to enjoy. Or so you might think.

In fact, as the State of Nature report has revealed, there are all kinds of pressures threatening our wildlife. Dorset has already seen the extinction of two butterflies and a number of other wildlife species are under threat.

Sir David Attenborough points out that there is something everybody can do. We can lend our support to the wildlife trusts and other groups doing their best to preserve the natural world.

Otherwise, it might be a question of enjoying it while we can.
