MANY of the county’s badgers could be wiped out if an “unscientific” cull goes ahead, a top vet has warned.
Mark Jones, who is also the UK director of the Humane Society International, will speak at a local Team Badger meeting tomorrow.
He said Dorset risks losing many of its ancient badger clans if Defra’s badger cull goes ahead this summer.
Dorset could yet replace Glouces-tershire as the ‘pilot’ area for the cull.
Mr Jones, who will chair and speak at the anti-cull public meeting at the Dorchester Corn Exchange at 7pm with Brian May, the RSPCA and retired dairy farmer Steve Jones, said: “There can be no doubt that if this cull goes ahead, there is a very high risk that badgers could be totally wiped out in some areas of Dorset.
