THE mum of a 15-year-old boy falsely accused of rape said her son was the victim of a “horrendous” lie.
The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested by Hampshire Police on March 13 after the accusation, which was alleged to have taken place on March 12.
He was reported to have met a woman, who is in her 20s, near New Milton railway station between 10pm and 11.30pm before walking to Ballard Lake and raping her.
However, Hampshire Police have confirmed that the charges have now been dropped.
The boy’s mum said he was “led” to Ballard Lake by the woman, who is in her 20s, and offered cigarettes and alcohol.
She said: “He is a 15-year-old boy, he made a mistake, and he said yes.
“He just went along with it.
“When they were there, she told him she was going to try and get hold of some cocaine, and then she started touching him. He is a little boy and it just got out of hand.”
She said her son had what he would describe as full, consensual sex with the woman in the park.
However, when he realised he was being sought by police, he immediately called in.
His mum said: “He rang the helpline himself to get a description of the incident.
“He realised it was to do with him, and he took himself into the police station.
“He has been completely willing to co-operate with the police throughout the whole thing – they did not come and arrest him.”
The furious parent says she now wants the alleged victim to be prosecuted for having sex with a 15-year-old.
“She knew he was 15,” she said.
“I don’t know why she has done this to him. It might be because she was worried about getting into trouble herself, but she has made our lives hell in the process. It has been an absolutely horrendous ordeal and we want her to be punished for what she has done.”
