A RINGWOOD Scout group is a step closer to achieving larger headquarters thanks to a funding boost.
The Veolia Environmental Trust donated £25,000 to the 3rd Ringwood Scout Group towards the extension of its recently-refurbished HQ building on Eastfield Lane, Ringwood.
The extension will replace an existing old garage building with a new entrance and lobby area, three meeting rooms, a new kitchen, disabled toilet, storage room and a bike rack. The main hall will also be enlarged due to the removal of the existing kitchen.
The Trust’s projects team will now start working with the scouts to develop their final plans and get their project off the ground.
Alastair Duncan from the Scout group said: “It is great that The Veolia Environmental Trust has awarded this grant. “The Scout building is used by a range of community groups and the extension will enable us to meet the demand to accommodate even more members of the community who use it for a wide range of different activities.”
