A severe weather warning for wind has been issued along the south coast this afternoon, with speeds of up to 48mph predicted in Bournemouth.
The warning reads: "A swathe of strong winds is expected to develop across northeast England through the early hours of Friday before transferring southwestwards across other parts of northern England through the morning, then the Midlands, parts of Wales and southwest England during the afternoon.
"The public should be aware of the potential for some minor disruption to travel."
But the rest of the Bank Holiday should be dry and possibly even sunny, according to the Met Office. Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend, with highs in Bournemouth of 16 degrees and 18 degrees in Poole.
The rain will be back with a vengeance on Tuesday, with heavy showers predicted all day.
