CORFE Mullen Carnival takes to the streets in its 47th on June 8 and will be raising funds for Forest Holme Hospice and the village hall.

This year’s event got underway in March with the selection of Emma Fall as Carnival Princess and she will declare the carnival open at the recreation ground by releasing 47 balloons.

On June 6 the annual carnival quiz will be held at The Dorset Soldier from 7.30pm and there are prizes up for grabs for teams of five competing for the title of Brain-Boxes of Corfe Mullen.

Carnival procession entries will be judged at 1pm in Albert and Ivor Roads and Poole town crier David Squire will get proceedings under way at 1.30pm for the 1¾ mile procession to the recreation ground.
