THE A351 was closed in both directions after a caravan became unhitched and collided with another vehicle this morning.
No-one was injured in the crash, which took place just before 9.20am. Police closed the road in both directions between the Organford turning and Bakers Arms.
Firefighters were called to the scene as a precaution because the caravan, which was crushed in the incident, has gas cylinders on board. The local authority was called in to clear up fuel spillage.
The caravan was being towed by a Ford Focus registered to a Wimborne woman when it came loose. The other vehicle, a Nissan Micra, is registered to a Milton Keynes man.
The road was reopened at about 1pm.
