AN investigation has been launched following the sudden death of a young man in central Poole.
Paramedics were called to a three storey block of flats on the corner of South Road and Skinner Street early on Tuesday morning.
South Western Ambulance Service contacted Dorset Police at around 7.45am.
Police officers arrived soon afterwards and the man, believed to have been in his early thirties,
was confirmed dead at the scene.
A scenes of crime officer in a white protective suit was seen going into the flats.
A neighbour said she saw two bags being removed from the premises. The body was carried
out just after 11am.
The East Dorset coroner has been told, but the dead man’s next of kin have yet to be informed.
Police say the death is being treated as “unexplained”. A post-mortem examination will be
carried out to find the cause.A
Another neighbour said the dead man had been living with his girlfriend on the first floor of the
block for the last couple of years and had recently started a new job.
“He was always friendly. He was a happy bloke, always smiling. He was a nice guy.”
It is believed that the couple, who were often seen out walking together, had children from previous relationships.
No arrests have been made and police say the incident is not linked to the Christchurch murder probe.
The post-mortem examination was due to take place this morning.
