A THEME park ride which suddenly stopped and caused injuries to screaming children has reopened.
Christchurch Borough Council is working with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigating Wild Bill’s Runaway Train at Adventure Wonderland at Hurn after the braking system suddenly kicked in on Monday.
Children were seen with bleeding wounds and one child was taken to Poole hospital as a precaution after a dozen people were thrown forward by the stoppage.
An inspection was carried out yesterday morning before the ride was reopened.
Adventure Wonderland spokesman Miles Marshall said all passengers were restrained by the safety barriers but the sudden stop caused minor injuries to several passengers.
He said the inspection identified “an over sensitive braking system” which “has been rectified and independently inspected. The ride is now approved for operation and has reopened.”
Christchurch council and the HSE said they are working together to carry out the investigation.
