Isle of Wight Festival

As the first major music festival of the year, the award winning Isle of Wight Festival not only gives festival-goers a weekend of world class music, but comes complete with live cabaret, a real beach, hot tubs, a sauna, Champagne Garden, Bohemian Woods, treasure hunt and a vintage tea room. The signature soulful and jazzy voice of Paloma Faith is coming to the BIC’s Windsor Hall on June 5 as part of her 2013 UK tour. Bodies in Urban Spaces

Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner sees human bodies squeezed into doorways, alcoves and any gap they can find around Bournemouth in this free outdoor promenade performance. Performers are drawn from the local community for the event, which offers interpretations of urban architecture. Bodies in Urban Spaces takes place on June 22 and 23 at 12pm and 4pm outside Pavilion Dance main entrance, facing the Lower Gardens.

Circles in the Sand

An intimate, imaginative and captivating show for under-threes, exploring sand in new ways, takes place at the Studio at Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, on June 1. Kerry Ellis and Brian May, The Born Free Tour

Following the success of the inaugural Born Free Tour in 2012, legendary Queen guitarist Brian May and singing sensation Kerry Ellis (pictured) are teaming up for a second Born Free Tour. All concerts are performed in aid of the Born Free Foundation, a global organisation which works to protect and conserve threatened species, particularly Africa’s lions. An evening with Johnny Herbert

Treat Dad this month to a night out with former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert as he takes to the stage of the Regent Centre in Christchurch to talk about motor racing. An absolute must for all “petrol heads”, the evening is hosted by TV and radio presenter Alan Keegan and will feature a full audio-visual presentation, a question and answer session and the chance to sit in a racing car and have your picture taken with Johnny.
