INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the sudden death of a young man at a flat in central Poole earlier this week.
An ambulance was called to a first floor flat on the corner of South Road and Skinner Street on Tuesday morning. The ambulance service then alerted the police and the man’s death was confirmed.
A post mortem examination was carried out yesterday morning, but further tests are likely to be carried out to establish the cause of death. If no natural cause is found, an inquest will be opened and adjourned by the coroner.
A police forensic officer was seen going into the flat on Tuesday and neighbours saw two bags being removed from the premises before the body was taken to the mortuary. The death is being treated as unexplained rather than suspicious.
The man, who is believed to have been in his early thirties, had been living at the flat with his girlfriend for a couple of years. He was described as “friendly” and “happy” by a neighbour.
