RESIDENTS living within the BH postcode are some of the luckiest in the UK, according to figures revealed by the National Lottery.

Since the National Lottery first began in 1994, more big National Lottery wins per head have come from the BH postcode area than anywhere else in the UK, according to the research.

A whopping 32 members of the Millionaires Club have come from the area, whilst 250 prizes of £50,000 or more have been paid out to residents within the region.

To celebrate Bournemouth’s Lottery luck, the Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr Phil Stanley-Watts, was presented with a commemorative plaque. It will be placed in Bournemouth Town Hall for all to see as a permanent reminder of residents’ previous lottery wins.

A National Lottery spokesperson, said: “Congratulations to all those with a BH address as they live in one of the luckiest postcodes in the UK.

They added: “The National Lottery has changed the lives of many Bournemouth residents, especially in the last two years.

“Around the UK, 30 major prizes are won each week and with more than 3,200 National Lottery millionaires, nearly everyone will have a lucky winner in their neighbourhood.

“Lottery luck can live anywhere and it could be you celebrating if you have a ticket for the next big National Lottery draw.”

Previous lucky BH postcode prize winners include Aaron Smith, 40, from Swanage, who scooped £1million on the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Super raffle draw on Christmas Day, whilst Ian Bridges, a car spray painter from Bournemouth, won over £150,000 on the Lotto last year.
