Warner Brothers: Launching a new girl group is no easy task, but Stooshe – consisting of 23-year-olds Alexandra Buggs and Karis Anderson, along with Courtney Rumbold, 20 – broke through at the start of 2011 with the cheeky single Love Me.
The irresistible Black Heart followed and was pure 1960s Motown.
This long-awaited debut album from the London trio, which has been delayed for months, kicks off with the big-sounding current single Slip.
What follows is a mix of party atmosphere with a touch of soulful melodrama, with My Man Music begging for a dance routine while Turning Me On is pure sunshine – but without their cover of TLC’s hit Waterfalls.
There’s no doubt these girls can sing and this debut is hook-laden with plenty of sass and fun from the feisty threesome.
