ARMED police were called to a home in Christchurch early on Friday morning after a domestic incident escalated.
A Dorset Police spokesman said officers were called at 12.30am to the home in Fitzmaurice Road, Christchurch.
The victim, a 21-year-old woman from Christchurch, sustained injuries which were not life threatening or life-changing. She was conveyed to hospital for treatment, the spokesman added.
A witness who contacted the Daily Echo said a man was arrested after “an extensive search”.
Police confirmed that armed officers were sent to the scene due to reports of a knife being involved.
A 24-year-old Christchurch man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and was in police custody yesterday.
The spokesman said police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
