A MOTORCYCLIST was injured in a hit and run crash in Bournemouth this morning.
The incident on the Wessex Way at Bournemouth West roundabout took place around 8.50am.
The driver of the car, which was in collision with the male motorcyclist from Christchurch, failed to stop at the scene and police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said anyone who may have seen the incident or the other vehicle involved are urged to contact police on 101.
The motorcycle rider was taken to Poole General Hospital with a suspected broken arm.
Paramedics tended to him at the scene before loading him into an ambulance.
He was wearing a head brace when he was transferred to the ambulance.
The westbound carriageway to County Gates roundabout was closed for around an hour, while the casualty was treated.
Traffic was directed through Westbourne, via St Michael’s roundabout.
The collision caused slight congestion with traffic slow but moving.
The road was reopened at 9.45am.
