A 20mph limit in residential areas of Bournemouth enforced by average-speed cameras plus more road space for cyclists. This initiative, which will go before a cyclists group tonight, may be considered by Bournemouth council in a bid to make the town’s roads safer for cyclists.
The proposals are sure to get our readers commenting on the letters page and online on our website.
It’s a moot point whether the plans will work, but with Bournemouth one of the most dangerous places in England outside London for cycle accidents the idea of doing nothing is not an option.
