A MAN was led to safety by firefighters after cooking caught fire in a flat in Charminster this morning.
Crews from Springbourne and Redhill Park were sent to Milton Road at 5.18am after a neighbour heard a smoke alarm going off and saw smoke from a window.
The man was unharmed and firefighters put out the fire, which left the cooker severely damaged.
The kitchen suffered slight smoke damage.
