Jack P. Shepherd thinks it's a "great" decision for Michelle Keegan to leave 'Coronation Street'.
The 25-year-old actor - who plays bad boy hairdresser David Platt in the ITV soap - believes his co-star's decision to bow out of the Cobbles next summer is a good thing for her because she has the potential to be a movie star in Hollywood.
Speaking to new! magazine, he explained: "I think it's a great move for her [Tina) - she's got a face for films."
Michelle - who plays sexy barmaid Tina McIntyre - announced her departure last month.
And she is eager to lose the villain image she's gained recently after agreeing to become a surrogate for Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) and Gary Windass (Mikey North), but then refusing to hand over their baby to them.
She previously said: "Because Tina came in with a bang, I'd love her to go out with a bang. But I've always said that Tina is a good person, and I'd like her to stay that way."
Despite her decision, the 26-year-old actress has been told she can return at any time in the future if she wants to.
