PARK home residents are angry and upset after being told they are being evicted.
The rental residents at Iford Bridge Home Park near Christchurch have been sent letters warning they have 28 days to leave to make way for new homes being put up as part of a redevelopment.
Russell Napier said he was told he could stay as long as he liked when he moved in to the park on Old Bridge Road three months ago. He said he and his fellow 12 residents who rent face a huge upheaval.
“We’re devastated,” he said.
“I just think it’s a disgrace. They want to redevelop the middle and put brand new homes up here for people to buy.”
The 44-year-old said he and his neighbours were worrying about where they can go.
“There’s a lot of people here with pets,” he added.
“And there’s elderly people here.
“It’s beautiful so none of us want to go.”
The park home residents were evacuated from their homes last July over flooding fears which never materialised.
Barry Clark, manager of Sines Parks, said residents should never have been told they would be able to stay for as long as they liked.
He said: “The site is being redeveloped and those homes have to be taken off for the redevelopment to continue and for brand new homes to be put there.
“Most of the rented homes are old second hand ones and the new homes are going to be for sale. With a rented mobile home redevelopment is always a possibility.”
