THERE is a Caribbean flavour to the festivities in Bournemouth Square today.
Day three of the Bournemouth Food and Drink Festival has seen steel pan music, story-telling of old Caribbean folk tales and a fashion display with bright masquerade costumes transform the town centre into Trinidad and Tobago.
One important difference, the grey skies of a British Summer, have done little to dampen the enthusiasm of the crowds queuing up to sample tasty Caribbean delicacies.
Organiser Patrick Marmion said at least 60,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, which runs until June 30.
Tomorrow the festivities switch to the other side of the world, with a celebration of Far Eastern cuisine and culture serving up Chinese drumming, Kung Fu and lion dancing workshops, as well as food from China, Japan and Thailand.
