POLICE want to speak to a driver who threatened another motorist in a road rage incident.

The Ford Ka driver tailgated a Land Rover along the A337 Southampton Road, Lymington, before overtaking dangerously and braking.

He then got out and walked towards the Land Rover, gesturing in an “aggressive and threatening” manner, police said.

The incident happened at around 8pm on Sunday June 23 but police have only just released details.

The Land Rover driver, a 47-year-old local woman, reversed her vehicle away from the threatening man and collided with a Renault behind her.

The Ka driver is described as white, of heavy build, 40-50 years old, with a pony tail and moustache. He may have facial stubble, and he wore a leather waistcoat.

PC Lawrence McKenna of New Milton appealed for the Ka driver to contact him and wants to hear from anyone who saw the incident or recognises the description.

He said: “Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this incident, but the woman driving the Land Rover was quite shocked and frightened by the Ka driver's behaviour.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC McKenna at New Milton on 101.
