HUNDREDS of swimmers will make a splash for charity as they take part in the pier to pier swim on Sunday.
The event, organised by the British Heart Foundation, is billed as the biggest charity swim in Europe, with crowds of people taking on the tough challenge of swimming 1.4 miles in open water.
Participants have been split into two groups, with the first wave starting from Bournemouth pier at 10am and the second at 12noon.
Any last-minute entrants can register on the day for the 10am swim. There is an entry fee of £25 for adults and £10 for children aged between 14 and 16. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The event usually raises around £100,000 for the British Heart Foundation, who use it to fund life-saving research into heart disease.
