DETECTIVES have closed their murder investigation into the suspicious death of a man in a flat in Westbourne.
Officers from Dorset’s Major Crime Investigation Team launched the murder probe following the death of Lithuanian national Jevgenij Pisciuliov in September last year.
The 32-year-old was discovered in the stairwell of flats above Arrowedge Retail Chemists in Poole Road.
He later died of head and chest injuries at Southampton Hospital.
Ullas Patel, owner of Arrowedge chemists and the two flats above, was at work when a neighbour called for help.
He said he found Mr Pisciuliov with his head against the skirting board and his legs were on a small two-step flight of stairs on the first floor.
At the opening of an inquest into his death, it was revealed that Mr Pisciuliov, who lived in Poole, died from a subdural haemorrhage. He was identified through fingerprints.
His body was repatriated to Lithuania in November for a family funeral.
Following Mr Pisciuliov’s death, a 37-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of murder and questioned by police.
He was subsequently released without charge and officers said they were waiting on results of forensic examinations.
DI Marcus Hester, of MCIT, said this week: “No further action is to be taken.
“The man questioned was released without charge and the matter has now been passed to the coroner for enquiries.”
