ENTRIES are still urgently being sought for the local and regional In Bloom competition in Wimborne.
Over the past few weeks, 160 hanging baskets and 40 window boxes have been put up around the town.
However, more competitive green-fingered locals are being invited to enter their gardens into the scheme after a drop in numbers.
Anthony Oliver of the Wimborne in Bloom committee said at this stage last year, around 100 local people had entered the competition.
This year, just 30 have signed up so far.
The annual Wimborne in Bloom local competition will take place from Monday, July 22.
Competition entry forms have been delivered around the town but additional copies are available from the Tourist Information Centre and the Minster.
Categories include best front or back garden, best patio, best hanging basket, best display of hanging baskets or window boxes and best shop window display with the theme ‘gold at rainbow’s end’.
Entries must be returned by Monday.
