POLICE are appealing for witnesses after counterfeit notes were used to pay for goods in Swanage.
A 43-year-old and 30-year-old woman from Northamptonshire have been arrested and released on bail after customers entered a shops and bought many small items using £10 notes on Friday from noon to 1.45pm.
Two women in their 20s are wanted in connection with another incident, involving the shop Nixons, on Station Road, on Sunday at around 11.50am, where fake £20 notes were used.
They visited the store with two men and a baby in a bright blue pushchair.
PC Mari Montgomery said police believed there may be a number of £10 and £20 counterfeit notes in circulation.
And anyone with information should call police in confidence on 101, quoting incident numbers 12:242 and 14:239.
