POLICE are today continuing the hunt for a hit and run driver who knocked a young boy off his bike in the New Forest.
The 10-year-old was riding along Middle Road in Sway at 4.15pm yesterday when he was clipped by a car close to the junction of Station Road.
The car, believed to be a Nissan, was black with tinted windows and a loud exhaust and failed to stop after the boy fell to the ground.
The youngster - who was wearing a helmet at the time - was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward.
“It's unusual that the driver didn't stop to see if the boy was.
“It's fortunate there were no serious injuries and it goes to show the importance of wearing a helmet and the right gear.”
Witnesses should contact PC David Barnes on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
