THE cyclist is king in Bournemouth tomorrow as riders hit the streets for the Sky Ride.
From 6.15pm until 10.30pm, Westover Road, Gervis Place, Exeter Road, Bath Hill and other town centre locations will be closed to form part of an evening race circuit that will see more than 130 elite cyclists compete at speeds of up to 50mph.
Families will have a wheelie good time from 6.30pm as thousands of people of all ages and abilities enjoy a leisurely peddle around a car-free town.

And from 7.10pm, crowds will be able to watch cyclists going head-to-head in a series of intense races.
The evening will come to a close with Bournemouth’s first-ever Nightglow Spectacular.
But there will even be plenty to do for those who prefer two legs to two wheels, including a demonstration by a top freestyle mountain bike stunt team in the Square and a dazzling fire and circus show in the Lower Gardens.
Cycling fans will have the chance to meet some of the elite cyclists, at the Team Sky tent at Pier Approach, and take a look at the very bike Bradley Wiggins rode to victory in last year’s Tour de France.
There is also a chance to win a bike ride with a Team Sky athlete up for grabs.

Participants will have the chance to win thousands of pounds’ worth of prizes at the Sky Ride.
And cyclists taking part in the Nightglow Spectacular could also take home some great prizes.
To be in with a chance to win, participants are encouraged to dress up their bikes in all things glowing and bright.
