PAY homage to one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time, An Evening of Dirty Dancing is coming to the Pier Theatre in Bournemouth tonight.
The show is a fully choreographed, theatrical celebration of the music from the iconic movie, starring West End leading lady and winner of the BBC Radio 2 Voice of Musical Theatre, Aimie Atkinson.
Aimie is joined by Sophie Ayers who recently played Marina in Loserville at the Garrick Theatre.
Other new cast members include Jonathan Mark-Mawson (Legally Blonde), Darren John (Grease, Zombie Prom), Laura Ellis and Joe Murphy. Original cast members Matt Firth (Fame, Tonight’s the Night), Lucy Hope- Borne and Stephanie Ticknall-Smith continue in their roles.
Dirty Dancing boasts the greatest movie soundtrack of all time and all the hits are here, superbly performed in this fast moving, slickly choreographed theatrical treat. Songs include: She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don't Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and, of course, the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.
The show’s producer Stage Acts Entertainment said: “The atmosphere is always electric.
“There’s something about this soundtrack that ignites even the dullest of days.
“If you loved the movie, you'll love this show!
“We totally encourage our audience to get up and dance and sing and immerse themselves in the summer of ‘63”.
