A WOMAN and two children were injured after their car was struck during a police chase on Sunday.
The three were in a Matiz that was hit by a blue Vauxhall Astra attempted to escape from officers during the evening.
Police are hunting the driver of the Astra, who has not yet been caught.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At approximately 6.05pm on Sunday, Dorset Police attempted to stop a vehicle along Turbary Park Avenue in Bournemouth.
“The car, a blue Vauxhall Astra, failed to stop. The vehicle was followed by officers down Mandale Road where it mounted a kerb and drove down a narrow footpath.
“Police ceased following the Astra.
“Moments later the Astra collided with a yellow Daewoo Matiz at the bottom of the footpath.
“The occupants of the Matiz, a woman and two young children, suffered minor injuries.
“The driver of the Astra and another passenger fled in the vehicle, and are believed to have got into another vehicle and driven off.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing.”
