A PENSIONER was intimidated into handing cash over to a robber near the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Tuesday, July 16.

The 87-year-old Bournemouth man was approached by another man near the bus stop in Deansleigh Road between 10.45am and 11am, and told he owed him money. Feeling threatened the victim handed over the cash.

Police Constable Michaela Jephcott has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

“This type of crime is very distressing to the victim,” he said.

“I would ask the local community to be extra vigilant about it as the offender targeted a vulnerable man.

“I urge anyone who has become a victim of such an offence who has yet to report this to contact Dorset Police immediately on the non-emergency number 101.”
