POLICE are hunting a thief who snatched a handbag from an 86-year-old woman as she shopped in a Bournemouth supermarket.
The victim was in Waitrose in Wimborne Road, Winton when a man grabbed her bag from her trolley as she walked down an aisle.
Now officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to and appealed for information from the public.
The incident took place at about 10.15am on Tuesday July 16 and the bag contained the woman's purse and house keys.
PC Neil Jones, of Bournemouth police, said: “Following enquiries, I am now able to release a CCTV image of a man I believe may be able to help us with our investigation.
“I would urge the man pictured - and anyone who recognises him - to contact Dorset Police, in confidence, as soon as possible.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident take place or may have information about the person responsible.”
No arrests have been made.
