A YOUNG football fan has had the game of his life – after meeting Ronaldo at AFC Bournemouth.
Ten-year-old Harry Mogg, a massive Cherries fan, was lucky enough to get one of the mascot packages offered for the Real Madrid game on Sunday.
Not only did he enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the ground and a kickabout on the club’s Astroturf pitch with the other mascots, he also led AFC Bournemouth out on to the main pitch for the game, and met all the Real Madrid players.
Dad Adrian, from Penn Hill, bought the mascot package for his son after seeing a Tweet about the offer. He was initially placed on a waiting list, but received a call when another child dropped out.
Harry, a pupil at Baden Powell St Peter’s Middle School, has not washed his hand since Ronaldo shook it.
Adrian said: “That’s the bit I was really jealous of. He said all the players were really friendly and Ronaldo came and said hello to everyone. Harry lined up in the tunnel with Lewis Grabban.
“They went along the line of players and he got to shake Ronaldo’s hand at the end. He’s on such a high, I don’t think he slept last night.”
Adrian, who is also a Cherries fan, said he, his wife and his dad also went to watch Harry’s big moment.
He added: “Everybody knows Ronaldo is probably the best player in the world. Just to watch him at Bournemouth and to see Harry shake his hand and go out with the players, he’ll remember that moment for the rest of his life.”
